Thank You Charly - gone but never forgotten

Charly's legacy will never be forgottenCharly Lamm of Schnitzer Motorsport played a key part in the build of our replica Schnitzer BMW E24 635csi. Alec was introduced to Charly more than 30 years ago.

When Alec and Paolo Cavalieri visited Italy and then Germany a few years ago, Charly welcomed them both into the Schnitzer Motorsport Offices and Workshop, showed them the original BMW E24 635csi the Team now keeps and owns, plus shared technical specifications and put Alec in touch with the curators of BMW Motorsport Classic to view further examples and scan the Blue Prints of the famous "x-ray parts livery". And he gave Alec and Bruce his blessing to replicate the race car.

But most of all he was a true gentleman...  even with his hectic work/ travel schedule, he would always keep in-touch with Alec and the Ceprnich/ Evolution 2 Motorsport family answering questions and following the build and giving advice for our other race projects.

Alec's nephew Paul with Charly Lamm in 2017 Alec's nephew, Paul Ceprnich (of PACE), did a stint at Schnitzer Motorsport under Charly before moving to Australia. But they have always been in contact, and for the past few years Paul has consulted for Schnitzer and their BMW M6 GT3 Project. Paul will join Schnitzer at the Bathurst 12 Hour on Sunday the 3rd February 2019. We wish them all the very best for the race.

Hearing the news of his passing is incredibly sad for Alec and our family, however we pay tribute to Charly for all he did for racing and specifically that of BMW Motorsport. His legacy and achievements will never be forgotten and for us our locally built BMW E24 635csi is a small and humble tribute Charly and all he achieved in his life with Schnitzer Motorsport as Team Principal. He was instrumental in making Schnitzer Motorsport the best race team in the world (in our opinion).

#ThankYouCharly  We will miss, but never forget you! Rest In Peace.
