Key support of partners during the journey

Partnerships within any project or relationship are key to assisting and guiding one to reach their dreams and aspirations. Through the build of the Evolution 2 Motorsport BMW 635csi, the support from the likes of BMW SA, BMW Motorsport and Schnitzer Motorsport has been sensational.

These interactions that Evolution 2 Motorsport experienced during the build of the 6 has been overwhelming, once again emphasizing the family nature that exudes within BMW's overall genes in how the treat effective customers like Evolution 2 Motorsport.

Obtaining parts for a classic car, such as the E24 BMW 635csi is no easy feat. Together Alec Ceprnich and Jose Perreria, who now lives in Australia (ex-JSN Motors), who worked long hours sourcing all the BMW Part Numbers required for the cosmetics of the project. Once the substantial list was drawn up it sent through to the team, or should we say family, at BMW SA.

"Due to the many exciting projects Evolution 2 Motorsport had tackled and completed, in bringing the best classic BMW race cars, some original examples, others replications of customer dreams, BMW wanted to support our efforts through assisting in parts supply at reduced prices," explains Alec Ceprnich. "Rob Gearing, BMW SA, spearheaded these relations and put the whole agreement together. He put us in contact with the wonderful Thilosh Moodally, who handled all our parts requirements, put the orders through and handled the goods when shipped from Germany to South Africa. Without the support of Rob, Thilosh and Rudi Nortje the progress on the project would have not reached the levels it has, and we are really appreciative of their support and service."

From firing up the new 635csi engine, in rather agricultural fashion, the team worked towards fitting all necessary components and acquiring cosmetic parts requirements to ensure the shark nosed racer looked the part.

By this point the 635csi started to look the part, attracting the line of site of many visitors to Evolution 2 Motorsport. However the best was yet to come as Evolution 2 Motorsport would tackle the most difficult task predicted in the project, replicating the Genuine BMW Parts livery run by the Schnitzer Team during the era, where the BMW's parts x-ray was depicted on the exterior paint finish. In addition to matching the carefully crafted artwork, Evolution 2 Motorsport also had the unenviable task of sourcing an extremely rare set of BBS Centre Lock Rims (more on that...).
