Sela Brokers

The meaning of Sela: so be it or the rock, captures the tenacity and consistency of this firm, which has served as a trusted Johannesburg insurance brokerage for over 40 years.

Sela was founded in 1972 by the late Giorgio Cavalieri, whose family comes from a long line of insurers. Alan Turnbull joined the Houghton-based insurance brokerage in 1980, following a successful career in short term insurance at SA Eagle / Zurich. Since then their sons Andrea and Ross have joined the business which ensures continuity of the legacy.

Not only did Sela invent motor schemes, by being brokers to the Ferrari Automobili Club for many years and current brokers to the Porsche Club; the brokerage also deals in industrial and commercial insurances, personal lines and financial services namely, pension/ provident funds, group risk covers, medical aids, personal financial planning and investments.
